What free car removal really means
Free means you pay nothing, at any point. No towing fee, no fuel charge, no distance charge and no admin fee taken off at the curb. The offer we give you on the phone is the cash you get in your hand.
Some buyers quote a price and then subtract the cost of the tow when they show up. We don't work that way. Free car towing is part of how we buy cars, so it's built into our business, not into your price.
Why can we do it for free? Because we're buying the car. Its steel, parts and catalytic converter have value, and picking it up is simply how we collect what we paid for. From our Burlington base we cover the GTA and Golden Horseshoe, and the tow costs the same everywhere we go: nothing.
If you mainly want an eyesore gone from the driveway, our junk car removal page covers that side of things in more detail.
What every free pickup includes
The same things come with every tow, whether the car runs or not.
-
A firm price before we roll
You get a firm cash offer in about 3 minutes. The driver confirms the car matches your description, and that's the number you're paid. No haggling in the driveway and no surprise deductions.
-
The right truck for the spot
Tell us where the car sits and we'll match the tow truck to the job. That usually means a flatbed for wrecks and heavier vehicles, or a smaller unit where space is tight.
-
Help with the paperwork
We'll tell you exactly what to have ready, which is usually the ownership (vehicle permit) and photo ID. The driver brings the bill of sale and walks you through signing, so nothing gets missed.
-
Cash on the spot
You're paid cash on the spot once the paperwork is signed and the car is ready to load. There's no waiting days for your money and no chasing a buyer after the car is gone.
-
Same-day pickup when we can
Call before noon and we can usually pick up the same day. Otherwise, we'll book a time that suits you. We work Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., so evening and Saturday pickups are possible.
-
A responsible end for the car
Cars that can't go back on the road go to licensed Ontario recyclers. Fluids are drained, usable parts are reused and the metal is recycled, so nothing ends up dumped in a field.
Hard-to-reach cars: how we get them out
Most pickups are simple. For the tricky ones, a few details when you book make all the difference, because they tell us which truck and equipment to send.
| Situation | What to tell us | How we usually handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Underground parking | The building, the parking level and the clearance posted at the ramp entrance | A low-profile truck where clearance allows, or we move the car up to the surface first |
| Narrow lane or shared driveway | How wide the lane is, what's parked in the way and whether a neighbour shares the drive | A smaller truck, or we winch the car out to the street |
| No keys | Whether the steering is locked and if it's an automatic stuck in park | Wheel dollies or go-jacks, so the car moves without being started |
| Flat tires | How many tires are flat and whether the rims are damaged | Dollies under the flat wheels, or a winch onto a flatbed |
| Seized wheels or brakes | How long the car has sat and whether the parking brake is stuck on | Go-jacks or skates, then a winch onto the flatbed |
| Missing wheels or engine | Which parts are gone and how the car is resting | A flatbed and winch; missing parts lower the price, not the free tow |
| Backyard or behind a fence | Gate width, slope and whether the ground is soft | We plan a route and winch the car out wherever it's safe to do so |
| Buried in snow or ice | How deep it is and whether the tires are frozen to the ground | Clear a path to the car if you can, and we'll handle the rest |
| At a repair shop or storage lot | The shop's name and hours, and whether a bill is owing | We set a time with the shop; any repair or storage bill is yours to settle first |
How free car removal works, from call to curb
Here's what happens between your first call and an empty parking spot.
-
Step 1: Get your offer
Call (289) 349-2006 or fill in the form with the year, make, model and condition. Tell us where the car sits and anything that makes it hard to move. You'll get a firm cash offer in about 3 minutes, free and with no obligation.
-
Step 2: Book a pickup time
Pick a time that suits you. Same-day pickup is usually possible if you call before noon. We'll confirm the address, the parking details and who will be there to sign, so the driver arrives ready for your exact spot.
-
Step 3: The driver checks the car
The driver confirms the car matches your description and looks at how it's sitting. You show photo ID and sign the ownership over. Take your licence plates off beforehand, since in Ontario they belong to you, not the car.
-
Step 4: Loaded, paid and gone
You're paid cash on the spot, and the car is driven, rolled or winched onto the truck. The whole visit usually takes 20–30 minutes. No tow fee, no deductions and one less problem on your property.
Get your car ready for a free pickup
A little prep makes pickup day quicker. Our full guide to preparing your car for pickup goes into more detail.
- Plates off Licence plates belong to you in Ontario, so remove them and keep them for your next car or return them to ServiceOntario.
- Personal items out Check the glovebox, trunk, door pockets, under the seats and the spare-tire well for documents and valuables.
- Transponder and remotes Take your 407 ETR transponder, garage door opener, dash cam and phone mount.
- Ownership and ID Have the ownership and a valid government photo ID ready for the person who signs.
- Keys if you have them Keys help, but we can still tow without them as long as you have the ownership.
- A clear path Move other vehicles, bins and patio furniture so the tow truck can get close to the car.
- Parking details For condos and apartments, note the parking level, stall number and ramp clearance.
- Building or gate access Share the buzzer code or gate code, or let your property manager or concierge know a tow truck is coming.
- Someone to sign The registered owner, or someone with written authorization, needs to be there to sign and get paid.
Where we pick up cars
Your car doesn't have to be in your own driveway to qualify for a free tow.
At a mechanic or body shop
If the shop says the repair isn't worth it, there's no need to tow the car home first. Give us the shop's name and hours, and settle any bill you owe so they'll release it. We'll set a time when you, or someone you've authorized, can meet us there to sign and get paid.
Condos and apartment buildings
Underground garages and visitor lots are common pickup spots in Toronto, Mississauga and other high-rise areas. Check your building's rules, give us the parking level and clearance, and let the concierge or property manager know. If the ramp is too low for the truck, we'll talk through moving the car up to the surface first.
Rural properties and farms
Cars parked in a field, a barn or at the end of a long gravel lane are fine. Tell us how far the car is from the road and whether the ground is soft. In spring, mud can make a lane impassable for a loaded tow truck, so we may suggest a drier day.
Estates and family homes
Clearing out a parent's home often means dealing with a car that hasn't moved in years. We can tow it from the house once the estate paperwork is sorted. Our guide to selling a car that belonged to a family member who has died explains what's usually needed.
Workplaces, storage lots and a friend's driveway
A car sitting in an employee lot, a rented storage space or someone else's driveway can be picked up right there. Check that the property owner is fine with a tow truck coming in, and give us the lot's hours and any gate codes. The tow is free wherever the car sits in our service area.
Our free tow vs other ways to get rid of a car
Getting a dead car off your property usually means paying someone, or waiting. Here's how the choices compare.
| Feature | Top Cash 4 Cars | Private sale (Kijiji / Marketplace) | Dealer trade-in | Driving it to a scrapyard |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free towing | Yes, always | No | Rarely | You get it there |
| Buys non-running cars | Yes | Rarely | Almost never | Yes |
| Paid on the spot | Yes, cash | Depends on the buyer | Credit toward a new car | Yes |
| Time to sell | Same day in most areas | Weeks | 1–3 days | Your schedule |
| Paperwork handled | Yes | You do it | Yes | Partly |
| Beat-any-offer guarantee | Yes | No | No | No |
| Risk of no-shows or scams | None | High | Low | None |
A private buyer rarely takes a car that won't start, and driving to a scrapyard means arranging and paying for a tow yourself. With us, the tow is free, the offer is firm and you're paid before the car leaves.
What people say about our free pickups
-
“Excellent service! Philip did a really good job of keeping his promised time to do the pick-up of my 2008 Honda Accord and paid whatever was agreed upon. Highly recommended scrap car removal service in Mississauga. Fast pickup and cash on the spot. No hassles and very pleasant experience.”
Merben Figura Mississauga via Customer review -
“I called after work around 7 p.m. I had a car I needed to get rid of and 30 minutes after I made the first call, he showed up and gave me a very fair deal on the car. Car was gone, money in my wallet and I was very happy. He was extremely pleasant, polite, fair and explained things to me the right way.”

Free car removal FAQs
Still have a question? Call (289) 349-2006 and ask a real person.
Is car removal really free?
Yes. There's no towing fee, no fuel or distance charge, and nothing is deducted from your offer. We're buying the car, so collecting it is our cost, not yours. The price we quote is the cash you receive at pickup, as long as the car matches the description you gave us.
Will you pay me, or just take the car away?
We pay you. Scrap sedans start at $300, scrap SUVs and minivans at $500, and scrap pickups at $500. Running cars can be worth up to $10,000. Prices depend on the vehicle, what's still on it and current scrap metal rates.
Can you tow a car without keys?
Yes. Without keys, the driver uses wheel dollies or go-jacks when the steering is locked or the car is stuck in park. You still need the ownership (vehicle permit) to sell, since keys don't prove who owns the car. If the ownership is missing, read about selling a car without ownership.
Do you offer free scrap car pickup from underground parking?
Yes, in most cases. Tell us the building, the parking level and the clearance posted at the ramp. Where the truck fits, we load the car right there. Where it doesn't, we move the car up to the surface first. The pickup stays free either way.
What if my car has flat tires or the wheels won't turn?
That's fine. Flat tires go on wheel dollies, and seized wheels or a stuck parking brake are handled with go-jacks or a winch onto a flatbed. Mention it when you book, so the driver brings the right equipment and the pickup doesn't take longer than it should.
Is free junk car towing available everywhere you serve?
Yes. Free junk car towing covers every city in our service area, from Niagara and Hamilton to Toronto, Durham, York, Peel and Waterloo Region, and north to Barrie. Not sure you're covered? Call with your postal code and we'll tell you right away.
Do I have to be there when the tow truck arrives?
Yes. The registered owner, or someone with written authorization, needs to be there to sign the ownership over and receive payment. It usually takes 15–20 minutes. If the car is at a shop or another property, we'll set a time when you can meet us there.
Do I need to remove my licence plates?
Yes. In Ontario, licence plates belong to you, not the car, so take them off before the tow. You can keep them for your next vehicle or return them to ServiceOntario. Returning them doesn't come with a refund, so most people simply keep them.
What happens to my car after you tow it?
Cars that can't go back on the road go to licensed Ontario recyclers. Fluids are drained, usable parts are pulled for resale, and the rest is shredded so the metal can be recycled. Our auto recycling page walks through the full process.
How quickly can you remove my car?
Same-day removal is usually available if you call before noon. Otherwise, we'll book the next time that suits you, Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.. Heavy snow or tricky access can affect timing, so we'll confirm your pickup time when you book.
