What our cash for cars service includes
Cash for cars in Ontario should be simple. You tell us about the vehicle, we name a price, and that price is what you're paid. From our Burlington base we buy vehicles across the GTA and Golden Horseshoe, from cash for cars in Toronto to cash for cars in Hamilton and well beyond. Every seller gets the same deal:
-
A firm offer, not a teaser
We price your car from the details you give us, and if it matches, the driver pays exactly that. There's no haggling at the curb and no surprise deductions for towing, fuel or paperwork.
-
Cash in hand before the car leaves
You're paid on the spot, before the truck pulls away. No waiting days for money to arrive, no buyer who wants to sleep on it, and no payment plans.
-
Free towing across our service area
Towing is included, from downtown condo garages to farm lanes outside Caledon and Milton. It never comes off your offer, even if the car hasn't moved in years or won't roll.
-
Any car, any condition
Late-model commuters, rusted beaters, wrecks, flood cars, cars with no keys and cars with no engine. Sedans, SUVs, minivans, pickups and work vans all qualify. If it has a VIN, we'll make an offer.
-
Best offer guaranteed
Holding a higher written quote from another buyer? Show it to us: we’ll beat any written offer. It's a simple promise, and it keeps our first number honest from the start.
-
Recycled the right way
Cars that can't go back on the road go to licensed Ontario recyclers. Fluids are drained, usable parts are saved, and around 75–80% of a typical vehicle by weight can be recycled.
Used value or scrap value: how we price your car
Every car we buy is priced one of two ways. Knowing which one applies to yours makes it easier to judge any offer, ours included.
Used-car value is for vehicles that run, drive and still have life in them. We look at the year, kilometres, condition and demand, much like a dealer would, and running used cars can bring up to $10,000. If you mainly want the most for a car you still drive, our sell my car page goes deeper.
Scrap value is for cars at the end of the road: dead engines, heavy rust, major damage. Here the price comes from weight, current metal rates and the parts that can be recovered, and most land in the $300 to $2,000 range. Our guide to what a scrap car is worth explains the math.
If your car is borderline, we'll look at it both ways and tell you which one we're using.
How cash for cars works, start to finish
Four steps, one phone call, and usually under half an hour on pickup day.
-
Step 1: Tell us about the car
Call (289) 349-2006 or use the form. Give us the year, make, model, rough kilometres and an honest description: does it start, is there damage, is anything missing? You'll have a firm cash offer in about 3 minutes, with no obligation to accept.
-
Step 2: Pick a pickup time
Choose a slot that works for you, Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.. Call before noon and we can usually come the same day. Mention tight driveways, underground parking or a car that won't roll so the driver arrives ready.
-
Step 3: Meet the driver
The driver checks that the car matches your description and looks over your ownership (vehicle permit) and photo ID. You sign the vehicle portion of the permit over to us and take off your licence plates if they're still on.
-
Step 4: Get paid and watch it leave
You're paid the agreed amount in cash on the spot, and only then is the car loaded and towed away. From the driver's arrival to an empty parking spot usually takes about 20–30 minutes, so you won't lose your whole afternoon.
How much cash can you get for your car?
Most scrap and junk cars bring $300 to $2,000, while running used cars can be worth up to $10,000. Where yours lands depends on a handful of things we check on every quote, and our minimums are $300 for sedans and $500 for SUVs, minivans and pickups.
What sets the price
- Runs and drives
- A car that starts, moves and stops is priced as a used vehicle, which is almost always worth more than scrap.
- Year, make and model
- Popular models hold their value longer, and their parts stay in demand with recyclers and repair shops.
- Size and weight
- Pickups, SUVs and vans carry more steel than compact cars, so their floor price starts higher.
- Damage and rust
- Body damage and frame rust cut into used-car value but matter much less once a car is priced for scrap.
- Missing parts
- A missing engine, transmission or catalytic converter lowers the offer, though it rarely drops it to nothing.
- This month's metal prices
- Steel and aluminum prices move with the market, and scrap offers move with them.
- Sedan, coupe or hatchback
- from $300
- SUV or minivan
- from $500
- Pickup truck
- from $500
- Running used car
- up to $10,000
Prices depend on current scrap metal rates and used-car demand, and change month to month.
How to get the most for your car
- Describe the car honestly so the offer holds at pickup.
- Leave the catalytic converter, battery and wheels on the car.
- Have your ownership and photo ID ready before the driver arrives.
- Got a written quote elsewhere? Send it over so we can beat it.
Cars, trucks and vans we pay cash for
If you're wondering whether we'll take it, the answer is almost always yes. We pay cash for junk cars and cash for used cars alike, including:
- Running used cars Daily drivers and second cars in decent shape, valued like used cars at up to $10,000.
- High-mileage commuters Cars with big kilometres from years on the 401, QEW or 403 that aren't worth fixing anymore.
- Non-running cars Seized engines, blown head gaskets, dead transmissions and cars that simply won't start.
- Accident write-offs Collision-damaged cars, including vehicles branded Salvage or Irreparable after an insurance claim.
- Flood and fire damage Water-logged, burned and smoke-damaged vehicles, bought for their parts and metal.
- Failed safety inspections Cars that didn't pass an Ontario safety and would cost more to fix than they're worth.
- Rust buckets Years of winter road salt can eat through rockers, brake lines and frames, and we buy them anyway.
- No keys Lost keys don't stop a sale; tell us when you book and we'll bring the right equipment.
- Stripped or incomplete cars Missing wheels, doors, seats or engine parts lower the price but don't rule the car out.
- Work and fleet vehicles Cargo vans, contractor pickups and small business fleets, whether it's one vehicle or several.
- Inherited and estate cars A parent's car that's been parked in the garage for years, with help on the paperwork an estate sale needs.
Cash for cars vs selling it yourself
Before you decide, see how a cash buyer stacks up against a private sale, a dealer trade-in or driving the car to a scrapyard yourself. Our scrap vs sell vs trade-in guide covers each option in more detail.
| Feature | Top Cash 4 Cars | Private sale (Kijiji / Marketplace) | Dealer trade-in | Driving it to a scrapyard |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free towing | Yes, always | No | Rarely | You get it there |
| Buys non-running cars | Yes | Rarely | Almost never | Yes |
| Paid on the spot | Yes, cash | Depends on the buyer | Credit toward a new car | Yes |
| Time to sell | Same day in most areas | Weeks | 1–3 days | Your schedule |
| Paperwork handled | Yes | You do it | Yes | Partly |
| Beat-any-offer guarantee | Yes | No | No | No |
| Risk of no-shows or scams | None | High | Low | None |
A private sale can pay more for a clean, popular car if you have weeks to spare for listings and test drives. For anything older, damaged or not running, cash on the spot with free towing usually wins on both money and time.
Pickup day: what to expect when the driver arrives
Pickup is short and predictable. Here's who needs to be there, what to have ready and what happens after.
Who needs to be there
The registered owner, or someone with written permission to sell for them, should meet the driver. That person signs the paperwork and receives the cash. If the car belongs to a business, a parent or an estate, call ahead and we'll tell you what to bring so nothing holds up the sale.
Paperwork to have on hand
Have your ownership and a valid government photo ID. You keep the plate portion of the permit and give us the signed vehicle portion. Lost the ownership? Call us first. A replacement is available from ServiceOntario, and we'll tell you exactly what's needed before you make the trip.
Your licence plates
Remove your licence plates before we tow the car. In Ontario, plates belong to you, not the vehicle, so you can keep them for your next car or return them to ServiceOntario. Returning them doesn't get you any money back. Here's more on how plates work when you sell.
Getting paid
Once the paperwork is signed, the driver pays the agreed amount in cash. Count it before the car is loaded. The number you were quoted is the number you should be paid, as long as the car matches what you described when you called.
After the car is gone
Call your insurer to cancel the policy or move it to your next vehicle. If you have a 407 ETR transponder, take it off the windshield before pickup. Keep your copy of the bill of sale with your records in case you ever need to show when the car changed hands.
What our cash for cars customers say
Reviews from people who have sold us a vehicle.
-
“Excellent service! Philip did a really good job of keeping his promised time to do the pick-up of my 2008 Honda Accord and paid whatever was agreed upon. Highly recommended scrap car removal service in Mississauga. Fast pickup and cash on the spot. No hassles and very pleasant experience.”
Merben Figura Mississauga via Customer review -
“I called after work around 7 p.m. I had a car I needed to get rid of and 30 minutes after I made the first call, he showed up and gave me a very fair deal on the car. Car was gone, money in my wallet and I was very happy. He was extremely pleasant, polite, fair and explained things to me the right way.”

Cash for cars FAQs
Still have a question? Call (289) 349-2006 and ask a real person.
How much cash can I get for my car?
Most scrap and junk cars bring $300 to $2,000, and running used cars can be worth up to $10,000. The exact figure depends on the year, make, model, condition and current metal prices. Call (289) 349-2006 or fill in the form and you'll have a firm number in about 3 minutes.
Do you really pay cash on the spot?
Yes. The driver pays you in cash at pickup, once the paperwork is signed and before the car is loaded onto the truck. You don't have to wait days for funds to show up or chase anyone for payment.
Will the offer change when the tow truck arrives?
Not if the car matches what you told us. The driver checks the condition, kilometres and major parts against your description. If something big was left out, like a missing engine, we'll explain any difference before you sign anything.
Is the towing really free?
Yes. Towing is free anywhere in our service area and never comes off your offer. That includes cars with flat tires, no keys or a spot in underground parking. Read more about our free car removal, and mention tricky access when you book.
Which areas do you buy cars in?
We're based in Burlington and offer cash for cars across the GTA and the Golden Horseshoe: Toronto, Peel, York, Durham, Halton, Hamilton, Niagara, Waterloo Region, Guelph, Brantford, Barrie and Orangeville. Find your city in the list below, or call if your town isn't there.
Can I sell a car that isn't in my name?
Usually only the registered owner can sell, or someone with written authority from them. If you're selling for a parent, a spouse or an estate, call us first. We'll tell you which documents to bring so the pickup goes smoothly.
Can I get cash for a car that still has a loan on it?
Possibly, but any lien must be paid off or disclosed before the sale. Call us with your lender's payout amount and we'll talk through the options. Our guide to selling a car with a lien explains how it usually works.
Can I sell more than one vehicle at once?
Yes. If you have two or three old vehicles, or a small business fleet, we'll quote them together and plan the pickup around them. Give us the details on each one so we send the right truck and allow enough time.
What if another buyer offers me more?
Show us the written offer. Our promise is straightforward: we’ll beat any written offer. Send it along with your quote request and we'll come back with a higher number for the same vehicle, so you don't have to choose between a better price and an easy sale.
Do I need a safety certificate to get cash for my car?
No. You don't need a safety certificate to sell your car to us, whether it's headed for resale or scrap. Cars that failed an Ontario safety inspection are welcome, and the failed items are simply factored into the offer.
How soon can you pick up my car?
Same day in most cases, if you call before noon. Later calls are usually booked for the next day. We pick up Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., so you can often sell on a Saturday without taking time off work.
