Why selling to us is easier than the alternatives
Selling a car usually means picking a headache: strangers from Kijiji or Marketplace, a lowball dealer trade-in, or paying to haul a dead car to a scrapyard. Our cash for cars service skips all of that. You get one firm price, one short visit and your money before the car leaves.
-
No listings or strangers
Skip the photos, the online ad and the endless “is this still available?” messages. There are no test drives with strangers and no buyers who never show up. One call or a short form gets you a real offer.
-
A firm price, not a guess
The offer we give you is the price we pay, as long as the car matches what you told us. Nobody tries to renegotiate in your driveway, and there are no admin or fuel fees.
-
Free towing, running or not
Towing is always free and never comes out of your offer. Your car doesn't have to start, roll or hold air in its tires. We send a truck that can load it right where it sits.
-
Paid before it leaves
The driver checks the car, you sign, and you're paid cash on the spot. You're not waiting on a buyer's bank or financing, and there's no risk of a payment falling through a week later.
-
Any car, any condition
Clean daily drivers, high-mileage commuters, cars you've just replaced, accident write-offs and cars that haven't moved in years. If it has a VIN, we'll make you an offer on it.
-
Best offer guaranteed
Already have a higher written offer from another buyer? Show it to us. Best Offer Guaranteed: we’ll beat any written offer. You don't have to shop around for days to know you're getting a good price.
How to sell your car for cash in 3 steps
Most sales take one phone call and about 20–30 minutes on pickup day.
-
Step 1: Get your firm offer
Call (289) 349-2006 or fill in the quote form with the year, make, model, mileage and condition. Mention any damage or warning lights so there are no surprises later. You'll have a firm cash offer in about 3 minutes, with no obligation to accept it.
-
Step 2: Pick a pickup time
Choose a time and place that works for you: home, work, a repair shop or a parking lot. Same-day pickup is usually available if you call before noon, and next-day slots are easy to book. Towing is always free.
-
Step 3: Get paid and wave goodbye
Our driver checks that the car matches the description and looks over your ownership and ID. You sign the bill of sale, you're paid cash on the spot, and the car is loaded up and gone. That's the whole process.
Cars we buy, from daily drivers to dead ones
We buy any car, truck, SUV or van, in any condition. Here's the full range, starting with the cars most people don't realize we buy.
- Running used cars Clean, well-kept cars and SUVs are priced as used vehicles and can be worth up to $10,000.
- High-mileage commuters Lots of highway kilometres don't make a car worthless, even when a dealer's trade-in number says otherwise.
- Lease buyouts If you buy out your lease at the end of the term, the car is yours to sell, and we'll give you an offer to compare.
- Cars you've already replaced Bought something new and the old car is just sitting there? We'll take it off your hands without a private sale.
- Pickups, SUVs, minivans and vans Bigger vehicles often get stronger offers, from late-model family haulers to tired work trucks.
- Cars that failed a safety You don't need a safety certificate to sell to us, so a failed Ontario safety inspection doesn't stop the sale.
- Cars with big repair bills Slipping transmissions, blown head gaskets and check-engine lights that would cost more to fix than the car is worth.
- Accident damage and write-offs From crumpled fenders to insurance total losses, a damaged car still has parts and metal worth paying for.
- Flood and fire damage Water- and fire-damaged cars are welcome, and we'll tell you up front how the damage affects your offer.
- Non-running cars If it won't start, won't move, has no keys or sits on flat tires, we bring a truck that can load it anyway.
- Rusted-out cars Years of Ontario road salt can finish a car's body long before its engine gives out, and we still buy it.
- Scrap and junk cars Cars at the very end of the road are paid by weight and parts, with minimums starting at $300.
How much will I get when I sell my car?
Running used cars can be worth up to $10,000, while most scrap and junk cars fetch $300 to $2,000. Where your car lands depends on whether it's valued as a used car or by its weight and parts. Used-car offers follow demand, and prices for end-of-life cars depend on current scrap metal rates.
What sets the price
- Year, make and model
- Popular models with strong demand, as used cars or for parts, get higher offers.
- Mileage and mechanical health
- Lower kilometres and a healthy engine and transmission push a used-car offer up.
- Body and interior condition
- Rust, dents, warning lights and worn interiors all count, so describe them honestly.
- Vehicle weight
- For scrap cars, heavier pickups, SUVs and vans carry more steel and pay more.
- Valuable parts
- The catalytic converter, engine, transmission, battery and alloy wheels all add value.
- Completeness
- Missing parts lower an offer but rarely wipe it out, because the metal still has value.
- Sedan, coupe or hatchback
- from $300
- SUV or minivan
- from $500
- Pickup truck
- from $500
- Running used car
- up to $10,000
Prices depend on current scrap metal rates and used-car demand, and change from month to month.
How to get the most for your car
- Leave the catalytic converter, battery and wheels on the car.
- Have your ownership (vehicle permit) and photo ID ready before pickup.
- Mention recent repairs, new tires or service records on a running car.
- Be accurate about damage so your offer doesn't change at pickup.
- Hand over every key and fob you have.

Selling to us vs your other options
There's more than one way to sell a car in Ontario. Here's how the usual options stack up on speed, effort, risk and what ends up in your pocket.
| Feature | Top Cash 4 Cars | Private sale (Kijiji / Marketplace) | Dealer trade-in | Driving it to a scrapyard |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free towing | Yes, always | No | Rarely | You get it there |
| Buys non-running cars | Yes | Rarely | Almost never | Yes |
| Paid on the spot | Yes, cash | Depends on the buyer | Credit toward a new car | Yes |
| Time to sell | Same day in most areas | Weeks | 1–3 days | Your schedule |
| Paperwork handled | Yes | You do it | Yes | Partly |
| Beat-any-offer guarantee | Yes | No | No | No |
| Risk of no-shows or scams | None | High | Low | None |
A private sale can sometimes squeeze out a little more for a clean car, but it costs you weeks of messages, test drives and paperwork like the Used Vehicle Information Package (UVIP). Selling to us gets you a firm offer, free towing and cash the same day in most cases.

Paperwork basics for selling your car in Ontario
Paperwork is where most car sales stall. Here's what you need and what to do if something's missing. For the complete list, see our Ontario paperwork checklist.
What to have ready
You'll need your ownership (vehicle permit), which many people still call the green slip, plus valid government photo ID and any keys or fobs you have. The name on your ID should match the name on the ownership. If it doesn't, call us before pickup and we'll tell you what paperwork you need.
Lost your ownership?
You can get a replacement vehicle permit at any ServiceOntario location. Call us before you go, though. Depending on your situation, there may be a simpler way forward, and we'll tell you exactly what to bring. Our guide to selling a car without ownership walks through the options.
Still paying off a loan?
If there's a loan or lien on the car, it has to be paid off or disclosed before the sale. Call us, tell us who holds the loan and roughly what's left to pay, and we'll explain how the sale could work. It's much easier to sort out before pickup day than during it.
What about my licence plates?
Remove your licence plates before we tow the car. In Ontario, plates belong to you, not the vehicle, so you can keep them for your next car or return them to ServiceOntario. There's no refund for returning them. Here's more on what to do with your plates when you sell.
Do I need a safety certificate?
No. You don't need a safety certificate to sell your car to us, even if it still runs well. That's one of the big differences from a private sale, where you also have to give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package (UVIP) and most buyers will ask about a safety.
Selling for a family member or an estate?
You can, with the right documents. That usually means a signed authorization from the owner or, for an estate, paperwork showing you're the executor. Every situation is a little different, so call ahead and we'll tell you what to bring before we book the pickup.
What our customers say
Reviews from people who sold their cars to us.
-
“Excellent service! Philip did a really good job of keeping his promised time to do the pick-up of my 2008 Honda Accord and paid whatever was agreed upon. Highly recommended scrap car removal service in Mississauga. Fast pickup and cash on the spot. No hassles and very pleasant experience.”
Merben Figura Mississauga via Customer review -
“I called after work around 7 p.m. I had a car I needed to get rid of and 30 minutes after I made the first call, he showed up and gave me a very fair deal on the car. Car was gone, money in my wallet and I was very happy. He was extremely pleasant, polite, fair and explained things to me the right way.”

Sell my car FAQs
Still have a question? Call (289) 349-2006 and ask a real person.
How does selling my car to you work?
It takes 3 steps. Call (289) 349-2006 or fill in the form for a firm offer in about 3 minutes. Book a free pickup at a time that suits you. Then our driver checks the car, you sign the paperwork, and you're paid cash on the spot before the car is towed away.
Do you only buy scrap cars?
No. We buy good used cars too, and a running car in decent condition is valued as a used car, not by its weight. Offers on running cars go up to $10,000. We also buy damaged, non-running and end-of-life vehicles, so any car can get an offer.
How much is my car worth?
Running used cars can be worth up to $10,000, and most scrap or junk cars fetch $300 to $2,000. Your offer depends on the year, make, model, mileage and condition. For scrap cars, the vehicle's weight and current metal prices matter most. Call or fill in the form for an exact figure.
Will the price change when your driver arrives?
No, not if the car matches what you told us. Your offer is firm. It only changes if something important was left out, like a missing catalytic converter or major damage we didn't know about. That's why we ask detailed questions when we quote.
Is towing really free?
Yes. Towing is free on every car we buy, and it's never deducted from your offer. That includes cars that don't run, have flat tires or are parked in a tight spot. Just tell us about access issues when you book so we send the right truck.
How fast can you pick up my car?
Same-day pickup is usually available if you call before noon, and next-day pickup is easy to book. We pick up Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.. Exact timing depends on your location, the weather and how busy the day is, and we'll confirm a time window when you book.
How do I get paid?
You're paid cash on the spot at pickup, once the driver has checked the car and you've signed the paperwork. You don't wait for a payment to clear or for a buyer's financing to come through. The money is in your hand before the car leaves.
What paperwork do I need to sell my car?
You'll need your ownership (vehicle permit), valid government photo ID and any keys you have. Take your licence plates off before pickup. If the ownership is lost, there's a lien, or the car is registered to someone else, call us first and we'll tell you what paperwork you need.
Do you buy cars that don't run?
Yes. We buy cars with dead engines, failed transmissions, no keys, flat tires and seized brakes. Our trucks can winch or lift a car that won't roll. Non-running cars are usually valued by their parts and metal, so you'll still get a real cash offer.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Burlington and pick up across the GTA and Golden Horseshoe, including Toronto, Peel, York, Durham, Halton, Hamilton, Niagara, Waterloo Region, Guelph, Brant, Simcoe and Dufferin. If you're just outside those areas, call and ask. We can often still come to you.
Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?
Possibly, but a loan or lien must be paid off or disclosed before the sale can go through. Call us with the lender's name and roughly what you owe. We'll explain how the sale could work in your situation before anything is booked.
Do you beat other offers?
Yes. Best Offer Guaranteed: we’ll beat any written offer. If another buyer has given you a higher written offer for the same car in the same condition, show it to us and we'll top it. You don't need to spend days shopping your car around.
